This section is about people that create. I wanted to find a way to support and introduce people that create beautiful, stunning works of art...people that utilize the space in their very own homes; their garages, basements, apartments, perhaps even old dusty attic. I wanted to showcase these people who spread out their beads, fabrics, and ideas to create something that has not yet been tainted by commerce, budget meetings and mass marketing.

Like a musician and his/her first album, these artists are still connected to their hearts, their gut. They are still in that phase of believing that have nothing to lose, and therefore are free to expose their souls without censoring or second-guessing their work. In the simplest terms, they are true artists. True works of art in and of themselves.

With this section I hope to reveal and discover, along with all of you, the true beauty and passion of the unknown artists of our time. These artists have the joy of creation in them. I take my hat off to them, for they are where it all begins. I hope that these artists, all artists (including myself), will continue to come from the rawness in their hearts...and the desire and joy of simply creating. Enjoy and keep coming back to check out who I will showcase next...

I have recently come across a potter named Linda Mechanic. She is from Mar Vista, California and works out of her studio, Peachtree Pottery. Linda's creations are beautiful pieces of art that come straight from her heart. She is particularly proud of an adjunct program which she has started, called "Get Centered." She created small clay artwork (peace symbol designs) called "Art Peace's". All proceeds from the sale of each "Art Peace"go towards the development of the "Get Centered" program. "Get Centered" was created to fund pottery scholarship classes for children at risk, and other individuals in need of extracurricular art activities in her community. Linda was happy to recently use Art Peace proceeds for the first time. She taught a day-long pottery class to three children with whom a friend put her in touch. These children are surviving siblings of a young sister and cousin who lost her battle with cancer. Linda's friend works through a hospice organization to act as a "big brother" of sorts to kids like these, giving them the attention and mentoring youngsters in such situations so badly need. Please visit Linda's website at peachtreepottery.com to see her creations and to find out more about the "Get Centered" program.

The next artist that I would like to showcase is the creator of Japanetic. Her name is still unknown to me, but she was my inspiration when it came to putting together this section of my website. I was walking down the streets of NYC when I saw her shirts lying on a blanket. I stopped to look and was drawn to the incredible pieces of clothing she had designed, which I later bought. Japanetic does not currently have a website, but if you are curious about their clothing line, the information is listed below. Give 'em a call and find out where you can find some of the coolest clothing out there.

Another artist is a girl named Rachel Foss. Rachel is from my hometown of Portland, Oregon and is the creator of EAR rigs. I have bought some necklaces from Rachel and LOVE her work. I am going to try to get some images of her jewelry to put onto the site, as Rachel does not have a website that I can link to. If you are interested in EAR rigs, please email Rachel at earrigs@earthlink.net
